Nadya Wasylko is a Ukrainian American photographer. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY
She studied photography at the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications and worked full-time in London and New York as a photographic assistant to several notable photographers.
Extremely well traveled and experiencing a very nomadic upbringing, Nadya has lived in 10 different cities and in 9 different countries. She turned to photography at an early age as a way to document and examine her ever-changing surroundings.
Nadya’s work is strongly influenced by the world around her. She is fascinated by culture, costume, folk art and spirituality and finds inspiration in memories, dreams, and the natural world. She is completely enamoured with color and light and loves to explore the infinite ways one can enjoy experiences with the visible spectrum.
Her photographs have been published in The New York Times Style blog, Dazed & Confused Magazine, The New Wave, Soma, Gloss, and Hint magazines.
In addition to her fashion and portrait work, Nadya is also pursuing an on-going photographic project about the country of her ancestors, Ukraine.
She also publishes frequently on her blog.
